Sensory Room Donation

A SOUTH Essex MP has warmly welcomed a generous £10,000 donation by a company in his constituency, towards the cost of fitting-out a sensory room in a soon to be constructed new special educational needs (SEN) school.
Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, recently visited Railscape, a leading engineering firm, based on the Brook Road Industrial Estate just off the Rayleigh Weir and thanked their Managing Director, ex-serviceman Michael Hayes, personally, for their very kind donation.
The money will go towards equipping a high-end sensory room at the new SEN School, which is just about to commence construction at Wolsey Park, Rawreth, on the edge of Rayleigh – a project which Mr Francois first instigated almost three years ago.
Commenting on the donation, Mr Francois said: “This is a very kind donation towards an extremely worthy cause. I am proud to have a successful business like Railscape in my constituency, who provide quality, highly-skilled jobs in engineering, whilst also contributing part of their profits to their local town – in this instance to assist the education of special needs kids.
“This SEN School project is very close to my heart, so I cannot thank them enough, really.”
In response, Mr Hayes said: “As a well-established local business, we have a strong commitment to the local community and so we were very pleased to support this first ever SEN School in the Rochford District.
“We are confident this special room will be well-used by the pupils, as part of their overall education and we wish the project all possible success.”
