MUSICIANS showcased their musical talents at the latest instantiation of the Southend Festival of Performing Arts.
Youngsters and elderly musicians alike from across a range of disciplines gathered at Kings Road’s United Reformed Church in Westcliff for the extravaganza, all competing in a number of classes and competitions.
The historic festival was established in Southend in 1911, and is still going strong 113 years later, marked as one of the most significant events in the city’s cultural calendar.
Tim Browne, a festival spokesperson said: “What an amazing ten days of performances from all over the county. From three to 83-year-olds performing.
“It is true to say that the festival is more than just a competition. It’s a community event that brings together performers of all ages and abilities.”
