Lily, who is studying GCSE Art at Belfairs Academy, is exhibiting some of her work in a group a show called Work in Progress.

The exhibition is a collaborative, pop-up exhibition which explores the importance of creative process, as a celebration of unfinished ideas, experimental journeys and surprise outcomes.

All of the works in this exhibition were created by young artists, writers and designers who currently study at secondary schools across Southend.

Mrs Lilleker Head of Art at Belfairs Academy explained: “We are so lucky to live and work in an area which is bursting with creative opportunities.

“Showcasing the students work and enabling them to see how other like-minded people develop ideas, is integral to their studies.

“We are so proud of our students’ accomplishments. The exhibition had the look and feel of a final degree show.”
