OLD Leigh came alive with sea shanties for the return of the popular Old Leigh Shanty Festival.
The weekend saw many crews take to stages across the town, at the Mayflower, the Smack, the Boatyard, the Peter Boat, the Crooked Billet and No 1 Cockleshed.
Shanty crews from across the UK and beyond, including Arundel, Stony Stratford, Swaffham, Lowestoft, Brightlingsea, Maldon, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Devon, Lavenham, Kent and Leewarden (Holland), gathered in the fishing town to regale visitors with a range of styles and songs whilst attendees enjoyed the seasonal weather.
Organised by Leigh Lions Club, the event started with a shanty sing-a-round at the Crooked Billet.
The Lions were collecting for Leigh Endeavour Trust, Leigh Lions Charitable Trust and Southend RNLI.
