Trust Links launched the facility at St Laurence Orchard during their Blossom Day event, attended by The Mayor of Southend.

A spokesperson said: “Despite the showers, it was a lovely chance for us to thank Morrisons for the 10K grant, and Olympus Key Med and the Coop for their kind donations.

“Without these people – the classroom wouldn’t be possible.

“Thank you for helping us provide a valuable new space for the community orchard. It was also lovely to have Mayor Robinson and Coun Daniel Cowen join us for the afternoon and show their support.”
