A LOCAL music trio are joining forces with Leigh’s Orpheus Singers to take part in their chairman’s charity concert in aid of PHAB this July.

Any Good Thing is comprised of local folk duo Peter Dunhill and Mike Blant, who invited Tanya Sanderson of Orpheus Singers to form a three-part harmony group with guitar and ukulele accompaniment.

The trio will join the Orpheus Singers in a joint celebration of both the 40th Anniversary of ‘Les Miserables’ and the 50th Anniversary of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ at the Chairman’s Concert this year.

The story of Victor Hugo’s novel ‘Les Miserables’ was adapted into a concept album back in 1980, developing into a sung-through musical in October 1985 and the rest is history.

Freddie Mercury’s iconic mini rock opera ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ topped the charts for nine weeks, and is still a Queen favourite 50 years later.

Any Good Thing are regular performers at events such as the Leigh Folk Festival, Leigh Shanty Festival and local folk clubs and have joined the Orpheus Singers for their past two Christmas concerts.

They will be joined on the night by Charlie Skelton (violin) and Joe Parker (piano-accordion), both renowned musicians with vast experience across the folk and rock scenes.

The concert takes place on Saturday 12th July at Hadleigh Salvation Army Temple SS7 2PN
