Ellis Coulson is running the London Marathon this April for Havens Hospice, a charity renowned for providing exceptional care and support to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
Mr Coulson said: “I want to run for Havens Hospices because of the incredible care and support they provide to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
“Their work is truly inspiring, offering comfort and dignity to those who need it most.”
For Mr Coulson, this mission is more than just a charitable challenge, it hits close to home: “This cause is especially close to my heart as a family member is currently undergoing chemotherapy,” he explained.
“Seeing first-hand the impact of a serious illness on a loved one has made me even more passionate about supporting a charity that provides care, compassion, and relief to patients and their families during such difficult times.”
Mr Coulson, who is a sales director at Leigh’s Coulson James Estate Agents, has been preparing and training for the marathon, which will be taking place on April 27th.
He added: “Taking on the London Marathon for Havens Hospices is my way of giving back and making a difference.”
The London Marathon has become an annual fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981.
Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a finish line in front of Buckingham Palace.
Participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants “to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world.”
