Vehicle Theft Charges

CHARGES have been secured against a teenager following a quick investigation by officers in the Leigh area.

 After receiving information regarding a stolen vehicle, patrolling officers in Chalkwell located the stolen Land Rover, where it failed to stop for officers on Monday 23 December.

 The driver fled the vehicle in Ronald Park Avenue, but was arrested by local officers after they pursued him on foot.

 A 17-year-old boy from Maidstone was charged with various motoring offences and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Thursday 26 December.

 He is charged with vehicle theft, dangerous driving, failing to stop, no insurance, vehicle interference and driving other than in accordance with a licence.

 The court released him on bail until 3 January 2025.
