STUDENTS from Southend were awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Services by David Stanley BEM, founder of Leigh-based charity The Music Man Project.

The Music Man Project is a multi-award-winning, world record-breaking international music education charity for people with learning disabilities.

The students received the badges in recognition of their efforts as ambassadors for the charity, both nationally and internationally.

The Music Man Project also received the prestigious Kings Award in November last year, honouring a 24-year legacy of inspiring children and brining workshop and music to a worldwide stge.

A spokesperson for The Music Man Project said: ‘David presented some more Southend students with King’s Award for Voluntary Service Badges.

“So many people contributed to this award, from those lucky enough to travel around the world to performers in local concerts and at primary schools, and to all the volunteers who lead The Music Man Project UK charity.”
