A LOCAL group of volunteers are transforming areas of Westcliff with planting projects and litter pick initiatives.
Grassroots Westcliff recently organised a litter pick round Hamlet Court Road, helping to rid the popular street of rubbish.
The group is gaining popularity locally, with initiatives across the area including installing “pocket parks” in forgotten corners of Westcliff and building community engagement.
Recent pocket parks include by Westcliff station, and in neglected land in Crowstone Road close to The Trading Room pub.
Following the recent litter pick, a spokesperson said: “Amazing effort on today’s litter pick, well done all.
“Our group is growing, meaning we can do bigger and better things.
