Westcliff Teen Stabbing

A TEENAGER was stabbed during a violent incident in Westcliff.

Essex Police were called to reports of a disturbance on London Road, in Westcliff at around 7:15pm on Wednesday, August 2.

Officers responded quickly and located a teenage boy who had been stabbed. He had sustained a leg injury that required hospital treatment.

Two other teenage boys were detained in the vicinity and arrested on suspicion of GBH.

They were released on bail until October 29.

Essex Police are now calling for anyone who witnessed the incident to come froward.

Chief Insp Jo Collins said: “Officers were on scene very quickly leading to two arrests and the recovery of a knife believed to be used in this serious assault.

“We have already carried out initial enquiries to establish what happened in the lead up to this incident and spoken to several people, but we want anyone who has not already spoken to us and knows something that could help our investigation, to contact us.

“It would have been a shocking incident for anyone to witness, but we don’t believe that there are any concerns for the wider public.”

A spokesman for Essex Police added: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.

“Please quote crime reference 42/138072/23 when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.”
