RESIDENTS are being given the chance to take a baby elephant sculpture home.
For just £5 per ticket, the public can enter the Herd In The City Raffle for a chance to win Stellarphant, a unique space-themed baby elephant sculpture part of the summer art trail that came to a close on September 4.
Designed by artist Allan Williams, Stellarphant is inspired by photographs of stars, galaxies and nebulas taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and, most recently, by the James Webb Telescope.
The starry creation is currently nestled in the window of the Havens Hospices charity shop in Southend High Street for all to admire.
Other prizes include a Meerkat Experience at Sealife Adventure Southend, family tickets to Sealife Adventure Southend, a picnic hamper, an afternoon tea voucher, a kid’s toy hamper, and an elephant art print.
Vanessa Harvey, Project Manager at Havens Hospices said: “Stellarphant has been a favourite amongst our trail goers and we are thrilled to offer this striking sculpture as a prize to one lucky winner.
“We have had so many people asking how they can own one of the elephants after the trail, and this is the perfect opportunity to win a one-of-a-kind sculpture from as little as £5.
“Every raffle ticket purchased will be supporting Havens Hospices’ specialist care and support to people of all ages living with incurable conditions.”
The raffle closes on Wednesday September27. Prizes will be drawn on Monday October 9.
Following the trail, the other baby elephants on the trail will be returned to the schools, clubs and community groups that created them, creating a lasting legacy of the trail.
The large elephant sculptures will be auctioned to raise money for the free specialist care that Havens Hospices provides to local adults, children and their families.
