World Champion Dancers –

A TROUPE of dancers from Leigh have been celebrating after being crowned in the Dance World Championships.

The group of 12 students from the Expressions Theatre Arts Dance School based in London Road were picked from 5000 entries to be a part of the team England at the dance World Cup in Prague.

After competing for more than a week in the Czech Republic, the Leigh dancers took home gold silver and bronze medals, to win the prestigious title of world champions at the prestigious event.

There were 9500 dancers competing at the competition this year and 63 countries around the world.

Emma Wise, principal expressions theatre arts dance school, reportedly said: “We are incredibly proud.

“Team England were the overall winners of the competition and we are thrilled to have played a part in this.”
